Does anyone know how the ancient Egyptians proceeded with childbirth? Are there any texts that speak of the processes, rituals, and spells that take place at this time? I've heard before that women gave birth in a tent or awning on the roof of the house and their husband wasn't allowed to be with them during labour or for some time after the birth. Were birthing bricks always employed, or was this only for the wealthy?

Anyone know any more?

I know that there are rituals, sacrifices and something they need to follow during childbirth. However I don't have an idea how they do it.
